UNC: Listening Post Alpha Walkthrough
Land on Nepmos and start making your way towards the listening post. You will fight a first wave of Rachni, once defeated talk to Lieutenant Durand. She tells you that this has been happening for the last few days. You will need to help her and the remaining soldiers in fighting off two more waves of Rachni. Once you do, you receive the coordinates to clear the Rachni Infested Mine, west of your location.
Oddly enough, killing this Rachni doesn't give you experience points.
This assignment is already complete, deciding to clear the Rachni infested mine, is completely optional. However, if you already completed UNC: Listening Post Thetha, the Assignment journal entry will remain open until you clear the mine.
Head to the entrance of the tunnel, when you reach the first room, grab a locked crate to the right of the entrance.
In the main room there are 8 Rachni holes, each of which will release its Rachni when a squadmate gets close enough. There are about 20 Rachni in this main room and unlike the waves you fought alongside Lieutenant Durand, you earn experience points by killing these. Once you defeated the Rachni, it is advised to save your game.
The path divides into right and left.
- In the right-hand tunnel you will find 2 Rachni Soldiers and a Rachni Brood Warrior. The brood warrior will emerge once you have killed one of the soldiers. You can also find a locked crate in this room.
- In the left-hand tunnel, you will find 4 Rachni Soldiers and a single Rachni Brood Warrior. They will appear sequentially, so you won't be fighting more than two Rachni at any given time. Once 3 Rachni Soldiers are down, the Brood Warrior will spawn. There is a crate in this room too.
Once they are all eliminated, the Assignment is over.
