Garrus: Find Dr. Saleon is an Assignment in Mass Effect. Garrus: Find Dr. Saleon is the personal Assignment of Garrus Vakarian. Assignments are secondary quests in Mass Effect, that are not mandatory to progress the game's story, but provide context and flavor by meeting interesting NPCs of all kind of Races, granting additional experience, and letting the player visit extraordinary and unique planets.

Getting Ready

After acquiring the Assignment, you have to prepare to head out for Dr. Saleon. Sledgehammer Rounds are a useful upgrade to deal with organic Enemies, so equip them.

Any other piece of upgrade or equipment that can knock Enemies, should be equipped.

Garrus Vakarian asks to be a member of the squad taking on the Assignment, but it's not mandatory to bring him along, so that's up to you.

Head to the MSV Fedele, it is located in the Herschel system of the Kepler Verge.

MSV Fedele

The entry room of the MSV Fedele is empty, so go ahead into the main hold. There, you will find your first Enemies, Test Subjects. Similiar to the Thorian Creepers, the only difference between them is that Dr. Saleon's creations are not affected by the Anti-Thorian Gas Grenades.

Keep on the move to stay alive and as you do with Thorian Creepers, don't let the Test Subjects get too close. Once they are all down, head towards the cockpit section of the freighter. Open the right door to find Dr. Saleon.

When you finally meet the Doctor, he thanks you for rescuing him and introduces himself as Dr. Heart. Garrus Vakarian exposes his identify, but he simply denies it. After a conversation going back and forth about his identity, Dr. Saleon will ask you to keep Garrus away from him. You have two options now.

Calming Garrus will lead him to objecting. The Doctor will be taken by the squad to turn him to the military to get some answers. Saleon ends up pulling his gun and preparing for a fight.
Letting Garrus at any point to shoot him, or you will do so yourself, also leads to a firefight.
If Garrus Vakarian is not in the party, Dr. Saleon attemps to persuade Commander Shepard but another squadmate will interrupt him telling that they are all aware of his actions. Again leading to the fight.

He will turn hostile but you can take him down with a single shot. The ending of this Assignment depends on the choices you made previously.

Before leaving, you can loot a Secure Storage Locker, a Medical Station, a Manfunctioning Object, a Wetware kit and a Hardened Storage Locker in this room. Loot them all and head t o the Normandy.

How to unlock Garrus: Find Dr. Saleon

Garrus: Find Dr. Saleon can be acquired after talking many times to the Turian and asking about his C-Sec history. He will eventually open up, to tell Commander Shepard about how Dr. Saleon, a Salarian geneticist, has escaped him when he was within his grasp.
