UNC: Distress Call (or Unusual Readings) is an Assignment in Mass Effect. UNC: Distress Call is about a signal from help received from a crashed medical ship. Assignments are secondary quests in Mass Effect, that are not mandatory to progress the game's story, but provide context and flavor by meeting interesting NPCs of all kind of Races, granting additional experience, and letting the player visit extraordinary and unique planets.
UNC: Distress Call Walkthrough
Head to Metgos in the Hydra System of the Arghos Rho cluster. Upon landing, go south of the landing site, towards the distress call signal. As you get closer to the crashed medical ship, you will be ambushed by 2 Geth Armatures, 3 Geth Rocket Troopers and two Geth Rocket Drones.
If the Mako gets too close to the crash site it will trigger an anti-tank mine that is hidden in the debris.
As always in these cases, you can crush the Geth from the Mako, reducing risks but also earning less Experience points per kill. Or you can decide to deal a significant amount of damage, leave the vehicle and finish them off on foot.
The Assignment will be completed once all the Geth are down.
