Spacer is a Pre-service History in Mass Effect. Spacer represents the first of many choices that affect how characters will react to you during gameplay and grants Paragon bonus points. The Pre-service History your choices here affect the storyline by accessing exclusive assignments (side quests) and Shepard's dialogues with various NPCs during the career.

 

Spacer Information

Both of your parents were in the Alliance military. Your childhood was spent on ships and stations as they transferred from posting to posting, never staying in one location for more than a few years. Following in your parents' footsteps, you enlisted at the age of eighteen.

Morality System Bonus:

  • Grants Paragon bonus points.

 

Spacer Unique Assignment

By selection this Pre-service History you can have a short conversation with Hannah Shepard, the PC's mother, through the Assignment Citadel: Old, Unhappy, Far-off Things, that is only available with the Spacer background. (In Colonist or Earthborn Pre-service History, Shepard's parents are dead or otherwise absent.)
