Hyper Rail is a Weapon Upgrade in Mass Effect 1. Hyper Rail is specifically designed to enhance the effectiveness of your Weapon granting __effect__ and can be applied to Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles and Pistols to augment them. Weapon Upgrades are used to enhance the offensive or defensive capacities to the Weapon they are slotted into, and can be purchased from Merchants or looted from containers.  

Hyper Rail Information:

A hyper rail upgrade extends the barrel of the weapon and "overclocks" its mass accelerator equipment. Its hypervelocity slugs impact with enough force to be useful against lightly armored vehicles, but produce significant heat and recoil.
