Phasic Rounds is an Ammunition Upgrade in Mass Effect 1. Phasic Rounds can be socketed in Weapons with available slots to enhance the effectiveness of your weapon's ammunition granting different effects like poison, cold and burn. Ammunition Upgrades, may also generate negative effects on your Weapon such as slow rate of fire or heat generation Phasic Rounds can be purchased from Merchants or looted from containers.  

Phasic Rounds Information:

Instead of projectiles, upgraded weapons release charged particle bolts that can bypass kinetic barrier shields. However, the actual damage done to the target is typically less than what’s done by a standard round.
