Farinata is one of the five systems located inside the Hades Gamma cluster in Mass Effect, alongside Antaeus, Cacus, Dis and Plutus. Farinata is named after an Italian aristocrat and military leader of the Ghibelline faction in Florence. Many saw him as a heretic, including Dante Alighieri, thus he mentioned Farinata in The Divine Comedy.
