Omni-Tools in Mass Effect 1 are highly advanced devices, usually worn around individual's wrist and forearm. Omni-Tools grant bonuses for squad healing, shield levels, and reducing Tech Abilities' cooldown rates. Omni-Tools features high-powered computer, holographic scanner projector, communications module and additional features such as a flashlight and camera. Omni-Tools can be purchased from merchants or obtain as loot from enemies or containers.
An Omni-Tool can be used to analyze and adjust the functionality of most standard equipment, including Weapons and Armor, from a distance.
The fabrication module can rapidly assemble small three-dimensional objects from common, reusable industrial plastics, ceramics, and light alloys. This allows for field repairs and modifications to most standard items, as well as the reuse of salvaged equipment. Onmi-Tools are standard issue for soldiers and first-in colonists.
Omni-Tools Stats
Omni-Tools play important roles in squad healing, shield levels, and assisting in Tech Abilities' cooldown rates.
- Shield Bonus: Improves the protection granted by Shields
- Tech Cooldown Bonus: Reduces the amount of time needed to re-use Sabotage, Overload, Damping, AI Hacking and Neural Shock.
- First Aid/Med Recharge Bonus: Reduces the recharge time of First Aid
Classes
Soldiers, Adepts, and Vanguards has a default Omni-Tool equipped, which they can use for Shield maintenance and First Aid. However, you can not equip another one during the game on them.
On the other hand, you can provide the Omni-Tools you have obtained to any of your Squad member who can perform Tech Abilities, so they can use their abilities when Shepard tries to unlock something.
